BEAT THE HEAT JOINS TOP GEAR!!!!! Nah, not really.... But the team did assist the Perth Motorplex Chaplin Terry Dorrington and the Riverview Church with their annual 'Bloke's Night' presentation. This year saw Riverview's Hayden and Steve battle it out as passengers in Tango 1 to see who could maintain the lowest heart rate during the ride and becoming the winner of the blokes contest. EXHIBITIONS While John and the boys were having fun in Tango1 at the Auto Trader Fast Friday, Mike had taken Tango 2 to the 2010 Wagin Woolorama as a static display for Mobil 1 and Statewide Oils. The event, the biggest of it's kind in the area, attracts in excess of 8000 people over the 2 days and was a big hit with the local enthusiastic guys and girls !!!! Even some of the 'Feral Ute' owners were impressed with T2 !!!!!! Both cars were re-united on Sunday at the Cerebral Palsy "Wheelie Big Day Out" fund raiser at the Burswood foreshore. READ MORE
JOHN RUN'S A 10 IN TANGO1 The ice was broken for John Solich at the Perth Motorplex's Fast Friday on Dec 11th when he broke into the 10's in Tango1. His first pass was an impressive 11.01 with a perfect reaction time of 000. Then this was followed up with a 10.97 and progressively times got better till he ran his best of 10.95 @121mph. To top the night off, John made it through to the finals against Tyrone Beggs. A red light for John ensured the win to Tyrone but John was over the moon with the nights performance regardless. Lee was taking driving Tango2 to consisnet 12.3's before his noght was unexpectedly cut short. It was a perfect night for racing and the guys really performed well. JUSTIN CARTER'S RIDE IN TANGO2 If there's one thing the Beat the Heat (WA) Inc crew enjoy, it's helping out those less fortunte. In 2005, Mike and John met a young man, Justin Carter who had suffered a horrific traffic accident. They spent time talking to Justin and made him the promise that when he was well enough, someone would take him for a passenger ride in their car. READ MORE
TANGO1 RUNS 10.864 In the Drag Racing off season, Tango1 received a new heart, a 6litre Chev V8. One of the Teams major sponsors, Rob from The House of Power has spent many hours fitting a new cam and fine tuning the new engine and on Wednesday December 2nd 2009, ran a new PB for Tango1 of 10.846. Stay tuned as rob believes there is a 10.7 in this package.
