Beat The Heat (NT) Inc

The Northern Territory ‘Beat the Heat’ program (Beat the Heat (NT) Inc) was developed by Superintendent Mark Jeffs formally of the NT Police Road Safety Division in February 2003.
Whilst also supporting the goals and objectives of its US based cousin, the NT ‘Beat the Heat’ program directs its efforts towards reducing and controlling the growing incidence of illegal street racing, hooning and anti social driving behaviour in the community.
Beat the Heat (NT) Inc incorporated as a non profit organisation in February 2004 and is maintained and administered at ‘no cost to the police department’ or the NT Government. It is fully sponsored by local businesses in the community and service organisations. Police involvement is entirely voluntary and does not impact on operational duties.
Like the US program, Beat the Heat (NT) is designed to build alliances between young drivers and the Police by using the common interest of motor sport to provide opportunities to educate young drivers and bring about changes in attitudes and behaviour that will encourage better acceptance of the road rules in the community.

Beat The Heat (QLD) Inc

The application for Beat the Heat (Qld) Incorporation was made several years ago, however the process was delayed by the applicants attempting to gain Queensland Police Service approval on behalf of the Office of Fair Trading.
In about June 2006, Senior Constable Richard Roberts was able to have the association incorporated by successfully arguing to the Office of Fair Trading that the association had nothing to do with the Queensland Police Service, and as such didn’t need their approval to operate. As a result, the association was incorporated in July 2006.
In February 2007 we purchased an EF Ford Fairmont Ghia automatic with a 5 litre V8 engine.
